Membership Category & Dues
A regular member is an approved maintenance organization whose aircraft electronics activity is primarily in the sales, service and installation of aircraft electronics equipment/or instruments for third parties. Application must include a copy of your company’s AMO certificate.
A provisional member is a company seeking an approved maintenance organization certificate whose aircraft electronics activity is primarily in the sales, service and installation of aircraft electronics equipment/or instruments for third parties. A copy of application correspondence, with applicable government agency, must be provided.
Aviation businesses that are not eligible for other membership categories.
An associate - manufacturer/supplier member is a company whose principal business is as a manufacturer or supplier or aircraft electronics equipment. Examples are instrument manufacturer, test equipment manufacturer, airframe manufacturer, wire/cable manufacturer, accessory manufacturer, major distributor, or company dealing in used equipment.
An associate - service provider member is a company that does not manufacture or distribute products; whose principal business is as a service provider that supports the industry in sales, service or installation of aircraft electronics equipment. Examples are DER firms, training companies (not including schools), marketing firms, insurance firms, calibration labs and more.
An academic member is a school or college offering avionics or maintenance training.

Interested in becoming a certified repair station?
The AEA now offers a week-long course divided into training modules designed for start-up repair stations as well as mature operations looking to improve their understanding of the regulations, performing internal audits and editing repair stations manuals.

Staff
Led by AEA President Mike Adamson, the day-to-day operations are managed by a full-time staff at the association’s international headquarters located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
